54^th International SPAR Congress

The 54th International SPAR Congress will be held in Lucerne in Switzerland from 24th to 27th of May 2009. We will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of SPAR in Switzerland.

The format of our conference this year will be different. As usual we will start on Sunday night, but the two conference days will now be on the Monday and Tuesday.

Prior to the transfer to Zurich airport store visits will take place on the Wednesday morning followed by a joint lunch. This allows delegates, who are not participating in the second part of the congress, to leave in the late afternoon or evening of Wednesday.

The theme of the congress will be “Connecting the future”.

As usual the core of the Congress Agenda will be the country reports, but also some International key speakers have already been contracted, such as Bertrand Piccard, the scientist-adventurer, who took part in the first ever non-stop balloon flight around the world and Caroline Sami, Chief Idologist, who will deliver a motivational message on leadership.

Our host SPAR Switzerland and SPAR International welcome you to participate in which promises to be a very enjoyable and interesting post conference. A further change to the for-mat is that this year the entire event will take place in one location.

Due to the central position of the city of Lucerne all trips of the Post Congress Study Tour will be organised from Lucerne. Therefore delegates staying for the Post Congress tour can re-main in the same hotel.
